Thanks for 2014 (32 Events in All)!

2014-event-banner-600Big thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors in 2014 who helped make our 32 ReBuildUp events for approximately 500 participants possible.  Special nod to sponsors Summit Credit Union and Greensboro Municipal Credit Union who sponsored several events throughout the year.  Greensboro Public Library was also a major help by hosting 17 of these 32 eventsClick Here for details and pictures of each event.

So again, much appreciation and looking forward to making an impact in 2015!

New Card Game and January 2015 Events

MDI-Logo-300ReBuildUp will be debuting a new card game for 2-8 players (great for families) that teaches about salesmanship, cost of goods sold, and gross margins in a fun way.  It works great as a pre-Economy, Jr. game and with a few extra card decks, you can have a tournament with up to 32 players at a time.

Teens in Greensboro are invited to come out and play on Tuesdays January 13th through 27th at Greensboro Library’s Glenwood, McGirt-Horton, and Hemphill branches.  Visit our Events page for specific dates and times.

Economy, Jr. @ Asheboro Library August 16th and 23rd Sponsored by Truliant Federal Credit Union

[Note: the August 30th event has been cancelled]
PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT – On Saturday, August 16th and 23rd from 1:00 to 3:00pm, Asheboro Public Library will hold Economy, Jr. free for area teens sponsored by Truliant Federal Credit Union.

The goal of these events is to teach young adults about real world economics by having them play through the game as a customer spending a month’s paycheck on bills for housing, utilities, child care, groceries, and more for them and their families without going bankrupt.  The other half of participants will play as the merchants selling products and services to customers with the aim of covering their overhead costs and posting a profit.  Customers and merchants which switch roles half way through the game to experience both sides of the economic coin.

The entrepreneur support group Shift, Nussbaum Center’s Entrepreneur Group, is helping organize volunteers for the Saturday events.
