3/22 Judges: Greensboro Community Development Fund, East Market Street Development Corp., and UNCG’s Office of Innovation Commercialization

The judging panel for our Saturday, March 22nd 2:00-4:30pm Jobs Course event at Glenwood Library has been finalized.  It will consist of:

PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT – On Saturday, March 22nd, teenagers at Glenwood Library from 2-4:30pm will be taking part in ReBuildUp’s Jobs Course that has them play Economy, Jr., an Economic Literacy game, and Pitch Drill, a fast paced business plan and pitching contest.

Judges for the Pitch Drill part of the event will be Jerome Gray, Executive Director of Greensboro Community Development Fund, the East Market Street Development Corporation, Phil Barnhill, Director of Operations of East Market Street Development Corporation, and Lisa Goble, PhD of UNCG’s Office of Innovation Commercialization.

By completing both games, players will be eligible to enter their own business concepts to the Cashless Incubator for review by area businesses in hopes of landing internships, jobs, or resources for their startup idea.

Greensboro Municipal Federal Credit Union, Building Lifelong  relationships one Member at a Time, is sponsoring the event with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s startup group, providing assistance.

If you have a teenager that can benefit from economic and entrepreneur literacy, please come out for the event at Glenwood Library, 1901 W. Florida St., Greensboro, NC 27403

New Date: 3/22 for Glenwood Library Economy, Jr.

EJ-Logo-800x800FREE PUBLIC EVENT – Saturday, March 22nd from 2:00-4:30pm at Glenwood Library, part of the Greensboro Library System, has been set as the new date for the Economy, Jr. originally scheduled for January 23rd that was delayed due to incremental weather.  This event will feature another game called “Pitch Drill” held after Economy, Jr. as part of the ReBuildUp Jobs Course.  This event is being held for area teens.  More details coming soon. #GBL

POSTPONED: Economy, Jr. at Glenwood Library 1/23

Glenwood-Crest-800x800The Economy, Jr. originally scheduled to take place Thursday, January 23rd from 2:00-3:30pm at Glenwood Library, a Branch of the Greensboro Library, sponsored by Bulldog Printing along with the Nussbaum Entrepreneurship Center’s Startup group Shift leading volunteers has been postponed due to schedule changes caused by the Wednesday, January 22nd incremental weather that closed area schools.

Sometime in late March is looking to be the new date for this event.  We will provide the specific time and day for the rescheduled event when it becomes available.
