3/15: PitchPocalypse @ Central Library Sponsored by Summit Credit Union

rebuildup_CRESTS-Central-PPi-3-15-15-300ReBuildUp Course players, come out to Central Library on Sunday, March 15th, 2:30-5:00pm to compete in the PitchPocalypse business plan contest with up to seven other aspiring entrepreneurs for your shot at $300 towards launching your business, FREE company filing with the state courtesy of Elon University’s Business Clinic (excludes local and state filing fees), and Six months of accounting help courtesy of Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC.

This is the rescheduled PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest originally planned for Thursday, February 26th which was postponed due to weather issues.

This event is made possible by Summit Credit Union.

Contestants will give their pitches to a panel of judges from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, UNCG’s NC Entrepreneurship Center, and Summit Credit Union.

Crest-RC-Collab-1-150For those who weren’t able to qualify for this contest at the February 21st ReBuildUp Course, we will be holding another one on Saturday, March 14th, 1:00-5:00pm at a soon to be announced location.

QUALIFIER EVENT – On Saturday, February 21st, Central Library in Downtown Greensboro will be hosting the ReBuildUp Course from 1:00-5:30pm to select the 8 finalists for the PitchPocalypse pitching contest held the following Thursday, February 26th 6-8pm also at Central Library.This event is sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s Entrepreneur Group, helping coordinate volunteers.

The ReBuildUp Course introduces players to the fundamentals of starting their own small business.  It involves participating schools each sending up to three of their students who show an interest in entrepreneurship to play on their school’s behalf.

RT-ItemsAll four ReBuildUp games will be played: Million Dollar Idea, Economy, Jr., Pitch Drill, and The Cashless Incubator.

New Card Game and January 2015 Events

MDI-Logo-300ReBuildUp will be debuting a new card game for 2-8 players (great for families) that teaches about salesmanship, cost of goods sold, and gross margins in a fun way.  It works great as a pre-Economy, Jr. game and with a few extra card decks, you can have a tournament with up to 32 players at a time.

Teens in Greensboro are invited to come out and play on Tuesdays January 13th through 27th at Greensboro Library’s Glenwood, McGirt-Horton, and Hemphill branches.  Visit our Events page for specific dates and times.

New Economy, Jr. 2015 Edition

– Player Orientation Video
– Credit Card Monthly Payment Store for Customer Players
– Business Licenses for Merchant Players
– One more addition in the works.

10/16 TE @ Benjamin Library N&R Game Headline

This problem is from today’s News & Record and you can try solving it by coming out to Benjamin Library tonight 6-8pm.  Players also get to play Pitch Drill along with become eligible to enter our $300 PitchPocaylpse pitching contest November 18th 6-8pm at Central Library.  Call 336-373-7540 to RSVP for tonight’s event.

10/14 TE @ Central News & Record Game Headline

rebuildup_CRESTS-Central-GSOfalli-TE-300PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT – The News & Record headline being used for tonight’s Cashless Incubator game will be: “Liquid nicotine exposures up sharply among kids.”  Players will be asked to solve this problem using the skills and resources they acquire during game play.

The Cashless Incubator is one of two games along with Pitch Drill played at each Teen Entrepreneur Fall Series event which is sponsored by Summit Credit Union.  RSVP for tonight’s game 6-8pm at Greensboro’s Central Library by calling 336-373-2471.

And remember, players of this Series are eligible to compete for $300 and other prizes in the November 18th PitchPocalypse.
