Food Growing League (NC1A): Round 2 – Radishes

It’s Round 2 of the Food Growing League (FGL). With the bad weather of January behind us, classrooms rally behind bigger radish yields. Thanks to Bulldog Printing for helping sponsor the 2nd Round.

Below are infographics for each match in the round followed by the class ranking so far and individual team rank. The infographics can be clicked on and printed out to display in the classroom to let students know how well they did this month.

Food Growing League (NC1A): Round 1 – Beets

Cone Elementary vs Sugarloaf Elementary vs Stokesdale Elementary

This is the first series of match ups of the new Food Growing League (FGL). We’d like to thank Cone, Sugarloaf, and Stokesdale Elementaries for participating. Dillard Middle is being moved to a separate division (NC1B) due to weather/scheduling issues.  Thanks also to Bulldog Printing for helping sponsor the 1st Round.

Food Growing League (FGL) Launching

After 3 years of ReBuildUp’s food growing program in various NC schools, we’re happy to announce the launch of the Food Growing League (FGL).

The League allows classrooms taking part in the Classroom to Food Market Pipeline (CFMP) to compete with one another each month for who has the biggest harvest by weight. The first two months of the League are sponsored in part by Bulldog Printing.

Nearly 200 students from 10 classrooms in 4 different schools will participate in this inaugural season. These four schools are Cone Elementary (Greensboro), Dillard Middle (Goldsboro), Sugarloaf Elementary (Hendersonville), & Stokesdale Elementary (Stokesdale). Both Cone and Sugarloaf Elementaries are veterans of the  CFMP having taken part last year as well.
