It’s finally here, the 2018-19 Food Growing League Spring Season Championship. Started in February, students have been growing their basil plants for 3 months now. See pictures of what they’ve grown and find out which classes had the tallest harvests in the video, podcast, and scorecards above. We’re also launching our attendance and financial literacy GrowBuck program that can be integrated with the League for those interested in a new way to help students practice their math skills.

March’s Round 3 of the Food Growing League Spring Season has BSLA Conference with Stokesdale Elementary vs. Cone Elementary, Pleasant Garden Elementary vs. Sugarloaf Elementary. In BSLB Conference,Leesville Road Middle vs. Invest Collegiate Middle andEastern Wayne High vs. Ayden Grifton High in a draw match since both were unable to participate . BONUS ROUND

The first round of the Spring Season is all about basil with 8 schools across North Carolina vying for the tallest crop and the most Customer Surveys in the Bonus Round. Schools participating this Spring  Food Growing League include Sugarloaf (Hendersonville), Cone (Greensboro), Pleasant Garden (Pleasant Garden), and Stokesdale (Stokesdale) Elementaries in the BSLA Conference and Leesville Road (Raleigh) & Invest Collegiate (Charlotte) Middle Schools along with Eastern Wayne High (Goldsboro) and Ayden-Grifton (Ayden) High in the BLSB Conference.

Food Growing League (NC1A): Round 4 – Tendergreens

April’s tendergreen planting got off to a late start due to Spring Break, but now with harvests done, we can report that Stokesdale Elementary Class A managed to win against undefeated Sugarloaf Elementary Class B in the 4th round of the 2017-2018 Food Growing League.
