ReBuildUp @ Teen Summit Saturday, May 31st 3-6pm

Come out to the Teen Summit at the  Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. this Saturday afternoon to learn more about ReBuildUp’s programs in person as we help promote the Economic Literacy Summer Series at the Greensboro Public Library table.

“The City of Greensboro is hosting a Teen Summit from 3-6 pm Saturday, May 31 at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. Free food and refreshments will be served for all teenagers present from 4-5 pm, along with music and entertainment. The Teen Summit will help inform teens on what programs, events, and activities are available throughout the summer. More than 15 local service providers will be on hand with information for teens and providing guidance on such things as career development and how to become a leader in your community.”

PRIVATE EVENT – On Tuesday, May 20th, participants of the “Be Good To Yourself” Teen Mentor program at Step Up Ministries will be playing “Pitch Drill” a fast paced introduction to business plans and pitching by having them develop and present a profitable solution for a specific problem before a panel of volunteer judges.

Parties 2 Dye 4 is sponsoring the event with the Diva Network helping organize the event.

Parties 2 Dye 4, specializing in throwing your next Tie Dye Party, is sponsoring the event with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s startup group, providing assistance.

PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT Wednesday, July 23rd from 4:00-5:30pm, an Economy, Jr. will be held at Reynolda Manor Library in Winston-Salem.  Ages 11-19 are welcome to participate.

This event is sponsored by Summit Credit Union with VentuRealization helping provide volunteers.

PRIVATE EVENT – On Tuesday, March 4th, selected students at Noble Academy will be playing “Economy, Jr.” where players gain insight into both sides of the economic coin by having them choose at the start of the game whether they want to play as a customer spending a month’s paycheck from their chosen career on necessities such as housing, groceries, child care, and more or as a merchant running a business needing to make enough sales to cover this month’s overhead.

Business Cents, a small business bookkeeping service, is sponsoring the event with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s startup group, providing assistance.

VIDEO: Jobs Course and Cashless Incubator

The Jobs Course is an introductory course using both Economy, Jr. and Pitch Drill programs to increase economic literacy and put participants on the path to develop and submit their own business plans and pitches to the Cashless Incubator in pursuit of landing an internship, a job, or even essential resources for their own startup.

New Date: 3/22 for Glenwood Library Economy, Jr.

EJ-Logo-800x800FREE PUBLIC EVENT – Saturday, March 22nd from 2:00-4:30pm at Glenwood Library, part of the Greensboro Library System, has been set as the new date for the Economy, Jr. originally scheduled for January 23rd that was delayed due to incremental weather.  This event will feature another game called “Pitch Drill” held after Economy, Jr. as part of the ReBuildUp Jobs Course.  This event is being held for area teens.  More details coming soon. #GBL
