Last Tuesday’s delivery by Summerfield Elementary made them the fourth and final school in Tessa Farm to Fork’s Classroom to Food Market Pipeline (CFMP) setup with:

Noble Academy (1st Delivery Jan. 17th)
Greensboro Day School (1st Delivery Feb. 7th)
Cone Elementary (1st Delivery Feb. 21st)
, and
Summerfield Elementary (1st Delivery Mar. 28th).

We thank Tessa for partnering with so many schools to help teach students about the farm to fork process by having them grow nutritious microgreens in class and delivering them once a month to be served to Tessa’s customers.

The CFMP is going through an upgrade for the coming school year where it will make an even bigger community impact.  Stay tuned to learn more and how Tessa Farm to Fork and some new partners are involved.

On Monday, January 30th, students at Sugarloaf Elementary in Hendersonville, NC harvested their Portable Gardens and bagged the greens for pickup by the Interfaith Assistance Ministry’s Food Pantry.

Noble Academy begins growing greens for Tessa Farm to Fork

On Tuesday, January 3rd, students at Noble Academy kicked off the first day of school building their Portable Garden bins as part of their Classroom to Food Market Pipeline (CFMP) with program sponsor Tessa Farm to Fork.

Students plan to have all bins setup by the end of the week with their first harvest and delivery of microgreens scheduled for Tuesday, January 17th.

Come out to Tessa on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 17th and Wednesday, Jan. 18th to get your fill of these student grown greens.

CFPP 2016-2017 at Ragsdale HS sponsored by Sonya Hamilton of State Farm

On Friday, October 7th, Ragsdale High School’s Science & Visualization students began setup for the 2016-2017 Classroom to Food Pantry Pipeline to benefit Parkwood Baptist Church’s Hand to Hand Food Pantry.

Sponsored by Sonya R. Hamilton of State Farm, this marks the 2nd year of the CFPP at Ragsdale High where the program was first piloted in the winter of 2016.  This year it’s been expanded from one to two of the “SciVis” classes.  The monthly harvesting data will be used in the statistics portion of the curriculum.

Due to a short school day on Friday, the rest of the bins will be setup this week.
