The Economic Literacy Summer Series sponsored by Greensboro Municipal Federal Credit Union has part two of ReBuildUp’s Jobs Course at Vance Chavis Library with Pitch Drill on Thursday, July 31st 6:00-7:30pm FREE for area teens.

We’ll also beta test the new Cashless Incubator game for participants after playing Pitch Drill. The Cashless Incubator is a hybrid of Economy, Jr. and Pitch Drill where players use contracts to trade their skills for resources they’ll use when coming up with a product to pitch to the other players in a :30 seconds commercial.

The top three winners with get a full :60 seconds to make an investment pitch to the other players. The winner is determined by who gets the most funding and we also spotlight the biggest investor. The goal is to show players how to market test their product ideas with little money.

This Wednesday @ 6pm, come out to the Nussbaum Center in Greensboro, NC for our Monthly Meeting which will have two featured Triad Startups looking for your expertise as they grow their business:
Krav Maga Greensboro is a self defense school in need of feedback for their new marketing efforts both online and off. Give them some tips and they’ll probably show you how to get out of a Guillotine Choke.
Think: da Vinci, Inc. is focused on inspiring the next generation of inventors at the July 11th Science & Technology Festival. Come on out to help them further their efforts.

MEETING: Bow Times @ Shift Monthly Meeting 6/4

Tomorrow on Wednesday, June 4th from 6-7pm at the Nussbaum Center will be Shift‘s monthly meeting (always the first Wednesday of the Month). Our startup guest will be Noah Cameron, a graduating high school entrepreneur looking for marketing and market access advice for his startup “Bow Times” which is a wooden bow tie company: https://www.facebook.com/BowTimes
Join us as we help improve his business and maybe get some ideas for your own.

Noah participated in ReBuildUp’s Jobs Course at Noble Academy this year and his startup will be taking part in Greensboro Partnership’s Triad Startup Lab 2014 which is a Greensboro based business accelerator for promising new businesses.

Shift is the entrepreneur group for the Nussbaum Center and regular volunteer organizer for ReBuildUp events. Shift meets regularly at the Nussbaum Center located on 1451 South Elm-Eugene Street near downtown Greensboro.

PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT – On Saturday, June 14th, teenagers are welcome to come out to the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship from 1-3:30pm to take part in ReBuildUp’s Jobs Course where they’ll play Economy, Jr., an Economic Literacy game, and Pitch Drill, a fast paced business plan and pitching contest.

By completing both games, players will be eligible to enter their own business concepts to the Cashless Incubator for review by area businesses in hopes of landing internships, jobs, or resources for their startup idea. Participants of the Jobs Course will not have to pay the minimal signup fee to enter the Cashless Incubator for six months thanks to a generous donation by Summit Credit Union.

Summit Credit Union is sponsoring the event with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s startup group, providing assistance.

For business owners, consider taking part by listing any available internships, jobs, or resources you’re willing to barter in exchange for skills. This will provide the newly economically literate graduates of ReBuildUp’s Jobs Course opportunities to apply for to further their futures. Sign up by Clicking Here.
