3/14: ReBuildUp Course @ Co//ab sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting
PUBLIC (FREE REGISTRATION) EVENT – We’re happy to announce the next ReBuildUp Course (Economy, Jr., Million Dollar Idea, Pitch Drill, and Cashless Incubator) will be held at the Co//ab in Downtown Greensboro on Saturday, March 14th 1-5pm. The Co//ab (pronounced “Co-Lab”) is the new collaborative coworking space for Triad entrepreneurs.

This ReBuildUp Course sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting will also serve as the qualifying event for the March 15th, 2:30-5:00pm PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest held the next day at the Greensboro Central Library also in Downtown Greensboro.

2/21: ReBuildUp Course (Today!) @ Central Library Sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting
QUALIFIER EVENT – Today’s ReBuildUp Course event at Central Library in Downtown Greensboro will take place from 1:00-5:30pm. This event is sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s Entrepreneur Group, helping coordinate volunteers.The purpose of this event is to have players participate in four entrepreneur mini-games to help select up to 8 finalists for the PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest held next Thursday, February 26th 6-8pm also at Central Library.
1ST PLACE WINNER of the PitchPocalypse will receive:
– $300 towards launching their company
– 1 year membership to the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce
– FREE business filing assistance from Elon University’s Business Clinic (does not include local and state filing fees).
– 6 months FREE business accounting help from Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC
2ND PLACE WINNER:

We completed the Teen Entrepreneur Fall Series with our final event at Kathleen Clay Library sponsored by Summit Credit Union. Here’s some of the action:

This series is different in two big ways:
1) Each Teen Entrepreneur event consists of our Pitch Drill and Cashless Incubator games held back to back per event to help players learn in a fun environment the basics of developing a business plan, presenting it, developing product ideas, market testing those ideas, and how to trade their skills for resources with little or no money. The Cashless Incubator game will be using headlines from the News & Record to come up with product ideas.
2) After completing a Teen Entrepreneur event, players have the opportunity to submit their own teen business idea to compete with seven others at our November 18th PitchPocalypse contest with $300 going to the winning startup along with great prizes for 2nd and 3rd place winners. Details provided on the entry form available to players of our Teen Entrepreneur Events.
The PitchPocalypse will have judges from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Summit Credit Union, and UNCG’s North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center for the November 18th event at the Greensboro Public Library Central Branch. Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s Entrepreneur Group, is helping organize each of these events.

MEETING: Bow Times @ Shift Monthly Meeting 6/4
Tomorrow on Wednesday, June 4th from 6-7pm at the Nussbaum Center will be Shift‘s monthly meeting (always the first Wednesday of the Month). Our startup guest will be Noah Cameron, a graduating high school entrepreneur looking for marketing and market access advice for his startup “Bow Times” which is a wooden bow tie company: https://www.facebook.com/BowTimes
Join us as we help improve his business and maybe get some ideas for your own.
Noah participated in ReBuildUp’s Jobs Course at Noble Academy this year and his startup will be taking part in Greensboro Partnership’s Triad Startup Lab 2014 which is a Greensboro based business accelerator for promising new businesses.
Shift is the entrepreneur group for the Nussbaum Center and regular volunteer organizer for ReBuildUp events. Shift meets regularly at the Nussbaum Center located on 1451 South Elm-Eugene Street near downtown Greensboro.
