On Friday, March 18th, the top four teams in Ragsdale High School’s Game Design class competed in ReBuildUp’s PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest to finish up the Winter 2016 Startup Program sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting.

HPFS PitchPocalypse Winners sponsored by Grow Foundation For Ghana
Congratulations to the winners of the PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest. This event completes the 8 week Fall 2015 Startup Program at High Point Friends School sponsored by Grow Foundation For Ghana. Special thanks to High Point Chamber of Commerce’s Chief Operating Officer Rachel Moss and Director of Communications Sarah Belle for serving as contest judges.
Entrepreneur Summer @ Greensboro Library sponsored by Parties 2 Dye 4
PUBLIC (FREE) EVENTS – ReBuildUp returns to the Greensboro Library with the Entrepreneur Summer sponsored by Parties 2 Dye with organizing help from Shift, the Nussbaum Center Entrepreneur group.
Teens are invited to come out and play Economy, Jr. followed by at a later date Pitch Drill and the Cashless Incubator back to back as part of the Teen Entrepreneur events taking place at the end of July.
Entrepreneur Summer finishes up with a ReBuildUp Course (all four games in one day) for adults 18+ followed by the PitchPocalypse business plan contest for teens and adults to compete in their own brackets for startup cash and prizes. Here is the schedule:

5/17: Women entrepreneurs win PitchPocalypse sponsored by Summit Credit Union
Heather Pendrak, a local high school teacher, won first place in ReBuildUp, LLC’s “PitchPocalypse” business plan contest held at Greensboro Central Library on Sunday, May 17th sponsored by Summit Credit Union. Heather’s winning idea was for a 3D scanning company that scans finished goods for furniture market clients and others creating files that can easily be printed out using 3D printers. The name of her new venture is Pendragon 3D Arts.
As the first place winner, she will be receiving $200 for her new company, one year membership to the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, three months of accounting help from Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC., and access to Elon’s Business Clinic.
Second place went to Destiny Riley, a rising Senior at UNCG, for her startup specializing in replacing toxic nail products with safer ones for area salons. She won $100 along with Greensboro Chamber membership, three months of accounting help, and legal assistance from Elon’s Business Clinic.
Both entrepreneurs now move on to ReBuildUp’s “Startup Test Flight” three month class to test out their business concepts in the real world. Once completed, both become eligible for micro loans up to $5,000 each from the Greensboro Community Development Fund.
The next Greensboro ReBuildUp Course and PitchPocalypse is planned for late July again at Greensboro Central Library.

ReBuildUp Course players, come out to Central Library on Sunday, March 15th, 2:30-5:00pm to compete in the PitchPocalypse business plan contest with up to seven other aspiring entrepreneurs for your shot at $300 towards launching your business, FREE company filing with the state courtesy of Elon University’s Business Clinic (excludes local and state filing fees), and Six months of accounting help courtesy of Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC.
This is the rescheduled PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest originally planned for Thursday, February 26th which was postponed due to weather issues.
This event is made possible by Summit Credit Union.
Contestants will give their pitches to a panel of judges from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, UNCG’s NC Entrepreneurship Center, and Summit Credit Union.
For those who weren’t able to qualify for this contest at the February 21st ReBuildUp Course, we will be holding another one on Saturday, March 14th, 1:00-5:00pm at a soon to be announced location.

PitchPocalypse Rescheduled to March
Due to some issues like the weather of the past week, we had a lower than expected turnout so we are rescheduling the PitchPocalypse to a later date in March, possibly on a Sunday to make it more convenient for students to attend. We will also be holding a 2nd ReBuildUp Course the Saturday before to increase our applicant pool for the contest.

QUALIFIER EVENT – Today’s ReBuildUp Course event at Central Library in Downtown Greensboro will take place from 1:00-5:30pm. This event is sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s Entrepreneur Group, helping coordinate volunteers.The purpose of this event is to have players participate in four entrepreneur mini-games to help select up to 8 finalists for the PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest held next Thursday, February 26th 6-8pm also at Central Library.
1ST PLACE WINNER of the PitchPocalypse will receive:
– $300 towards launching their company

PRIVATE EVENT – On Tuesday, February, 20th, 5th-8th graders at B’nai Shalom Day School will play Cashless Incubator to compete on their own or in teams of two to solve a local problem with a skills for resources trading technique.
