PUBLIC (FREE) SPECTATOR EVENT – On Sunday, July 26th 2:30-5pm at Central Library, participants of Entrepreneur Summer events at Greensboro Library’s different branches will compete in the PitchPocalypse business plan contest to win cash and prizes towards launching their own startup. 7/25: ReBuildUp Course (adults) @ Central Library sponsored by GMFCU
PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT – On Saturday, July 25th 1-5pm, ReBuildUp Course consisting of four business mini games covering business fundamentals will be held at Central Library for adults (18+) sponsored by Greensboro Municipal Federal Credit Union with organizing help from Shift.
This is the seventh event of the Entrepreneur Summer at Greensboro Library and only chance for adults to qualify to compete in the PitchPocalypse business plan contest on Sunday 2:30-5:00 at Central Library also sponsored by GMFCU.

Special thanks to Greensboro Municipal Federal Credit Union for donating 4 decks each of our entrepreneur card game Million Dollar Idea to the business classes of seven area Guilford County Schools with a total of 28 decks donated.

We’re putting together our new game play demo and instruction video for Million Dollar Idea. Once complete, we’ll be shipping out donated decks of MDI to business and entrepreneurship classes of selected schools throughout Guilford County.

PitchPocalypse Rescheduled to March
Due to some issues like the weather of the past week, we had a lower than expected turnout so we are rescheduling the PitchPocalypse to a later date in March, possibly on a Sunday to make it more convenient for students to attend. We will also be holding a 2nd ReBuildUp Course the Saturday before to increase our applicant pool for the contest.

QUALIFIER EVENT – Today’s ReBuildUp Course event at Central Library in Downtown Greensboro will take place from 1:00-5:30pm. This event is sponsored by Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC with Shift, the Nussbaum Center’s Entrepreneur Group, helping coordinate volunteers.
The purpose of this event is to have players participate in four entrepreneur mini-games to help select up to 8 finalists for the PitchPocalypse business plan pitching contest held next Thursday, February 26th 6-8pm also at Central Library.
1ST PLACE WINNER of the PitchPocalypse will receive:
– $300 towards launching their company
– 1 year membership to the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce
– FREE business filing assistance from Elon University’s Business Clinic (does not include local and state filing fees).
– 6 months FREE business accounting help from Michael Robinson Accounting, LLC
2ND PLACE WINNER:
– 1 year membership to the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce

PUBLIC (FREE) EVENT – On Tuesday, January 27th, Hemphill Library will host the Million Dollar Idea card game from 6-7pm.
MDI is a card game that has players take turns being a customer while the other players try to convince them to purchase their products accumulating market share in the process.
There are two ways to win by either having the most market share at the end of the game (combined money and resources) or coming up with the best product idea in the game.
